Release Notes 1.13.0 - Durst Workflow

With version 1.13.0, users can take advantage of innovations in the environment of variable data, a PDF editor and the correction and imposition of print data. In addition, improvements have been made in the area of performance and profiling, as well as translations.

Features in version 1.13.0

Anschlagkante und Startpunkt der Montage
User-defined check-in profile

From this version on, user-defined check-in templates - check and correction instructions - can be configured and saved. Thereby, it is possible to combine and execute a vast number of checks and inspections.

»Barcode / QR Code« in PDF Editor

In »Barcodes / QR codes« tab, codes which are already in the document, can be analyzed. Thereby, information is read-out and made available for analysis.

 * VDP-Editor

With this version, several tools and functions are provided in the VDP Editor. These include improved handling of CSV data and the creation of geometric objects, which are used for variable content. Furthermore, static elements can be dimmed and it is possible to better fit or align variable images.

Prioritizing processes

It is possible to prioritize jobs in the queue. Thereby, production jobs that should be available at the printer at short notice can be placed at the top of the queue and will be processed next.

Shape-Nesting Improvements

System settings provide a more flexible processing so that print data can be automatically prepared for shape nesting. Furthermore, the Workflow has been changed to asynchronous in order to prevent possible performance problems.

Remove sheet duplicates in the Nesting

Multi-page impositions are saved and output in reduced form. Identical imposition sheets are removed by activating this function and provided with their number of copies. This number is forwarded to the job ticket and thus the rendering time is minimized.

Duplicate hotfolders

Hotfolders that are already created in the Workflow can be duplicated including their configuration. Only the source has to be changed, because multiple hotfolders are not allowed to access the same source. All other settings are taken over.

 * Variable content for Fixups

From this version on, it is possible to use either a »static value« (previous behavior) or a »variable value« for input fields. In order to use variable input fields, meta-data fields such as user-defined fields, substrate, customer information, etc. must be available for the respective print item.

 * Fixups

  • Convert Lab to RGB
    converts Lab objects to RGB to facilitate color editing.
Kongsberg cutter

In this version the official ISCRIPT standard, which is required by Kongsberg, in combination with JDF was implemented. This was done to make the complete integration of the cutter possible.

GM LC350 Laser Cutter

The »GM LC350« laser cutter from Grafisk Maskinfabrik A/S has been integrated into the Workflow and can be controlled directly.

Optiscout Cutter Software

From this version on, the first stage of full integration has been implemented. The official “OXF” standard, which is required by Eurosystems, has been implemented. Thereby, information such as status messages and production data is returned in further expansion steps.

Improvements

Skip calibration

When creating a new profiling, it is possible to define, especially for third-party printers, whether a linearization profile and/or an overall ink limit profile is required.

Determination of the OBA value

From this version on, the optical brightener (OBA) value is analyzed during measurement in the linearization profiling step and consequently displayed in the analysis step. Thereby, the intensity of the used optical brighteners can be determined.

Filter for list of Print Items

From this version on, the list of all print items can also be filtered by user-defined fields.

Proof printing

In the output configuration of a production job, the option of selecting a proof simulation for the selected output color space has been created.

 * Simulation print

When simulating an output color space, the brightness axis (L value) is now compensated.

Redesign

The tabs »Impose« and »Variable Data« have been redesigned or restructured. In addition, the preview of the created imposition or the variable job is displayed in both tabs.
