Release Notes 1.10.0 - Durst Workflow

With version 1.10.0, users can take advantage of several new features in the environment of the Impose Editor, Cutting Devices, Fixups and handling of data. Additional improvements have been implemented in the area of Print Data Management, Editing and Outputting Print Data.

New Features in version 1.10.0

Stop Edge - Starting Point
Stop Edge - Starting Point
With this function, the user can freely determine where the imposition starts and is aligned by selecting the Stop Edge as well as the Starting Point.
Add Dielines
Dielines can be applied to individual Print Items, all Print Items or the Artboard. In Step & Repeat mode, Dielines can now be added per Row and Column.

Object Creation Tools
Object Creation Tools
These tools allow the user to draw objects in any impose mode except Tiling. Drawn objects are created only for the current imposition and cannot be saved in Impose Templates.
User defined Overlap Settings
Up until this point, if you entered an Overlap, it was automatically generated per tile, on the defined edge when using Tiling Mode. Overlap calculation depends on the number of tiles and which Construction option was selected. From now on the user can decide if the Overlap should be created automatically as usual or user defined on all edges.
Advanced Print Item Settings
In Nesting, Step & Repeat and Manual mode, a Spot Color can be applied to each Print Item, including Tint Value, Overprint status, Position and Offset. For the Print Items on the backside of the imposition for example in a double-sided Nesting, the Mirroring and Rotation options have been expanded. Furthermore, the Opacity of the Print Item on the backside of the imposition can also be defined.

New Settings for Marks in Nesting mode

This new option makes it possible to determine whether Marks, Captions, Lines, Grommets and Cutting Marks should be applied to either: the front side, backside or both sides.

New Marks
There are five new Marks available for all impose modes. These Marks use the newly implemented Spot Color Definitions, which output pure colors.

Color Setup Variations
Color Setup Variations
Using the initial Color Setup based on the color combinations of the printer, several variants of a Color Setup can be automatically created. For example using a CMYK-OVG Color Setup, 8 additional Color Setups can be generated.
Numerical Input Fields
From now on there are numerical input fields in the Impose Editor, which contain a calculate function.
Zünd CutCenter Materials
Materials that are available in the Zünd Cut-Center can now be imported into the Workflow. These materials can be selected for Production Jobs and the correct material is written to the ZCC cut file and sent to the cutter.
 * Applying Fixup Chains
When uploading an Article or a Print Item, when creating an Order or Production Job, a Fixup Chain can be selected. The Fixup Chain is executed during the check-in process.

Print Item Information
Print Item Information
In the Send to Printer dialog an additional dialog can be opened, which lists individual Print Items and their respective dimensions.
Render Satellites

Render satellites serve the purpose of distributing the rip process to the available processing power. For this purpose, a dedicated application is installed on different computer systems to perform render tasks for assigned printers.

Third Party Printers

As of this version, external printing systems can be managed and controlled in the Workflow. For this purpose, a new interface was added to create and configure third-party printers.

Administration of Hosts and Shares
Each Host in the Workflow is assigned to a specific category which allows better pre-filtering in the user interface.
 * Fixups

  • Day and Night Output
A white channel is added and the opacity of the image can be optionally reduced.
  • Move Spot Color Objects to the Foreground
Places selected Spot Colors in the foreground and can optionally be set to “Overprint” or “Hide”.
  • Delete Pages
Individual pages or a range of pages from a multi-page PDF can be deleted
  • Set RGB-Vector/Text to knockout
RGB vector objects and/or RGB texts that are set to Overprint (OPM or OPM 1) are omitted.

Impose Preview for Tiling in the Workflow
Under the Impose tab, the Tiling Preview image now displays dividing lines which better illustrates where the Tiles are split.

Name of the cut file and Code content
A separate template for Barcode content has been defined for cutters so that the associated cut files can be uniquely identified by the cutter system and Workflow.
Check-in Extension
In addition to all existing settings, the MediaBox can now be set to the Origin 0/0, and alternative color values for Spot Colors, based on the system- wide Spot Colors, can be exchanged in the print file.

The Barbieri LFPqb measurement device can be manually positioned and used for Spot Color measurements on the measuring table.
